New BuildingsIn 1928, the school buildings were extended and Alperton School acquired the name Wembley County School. In 1938 the old mansion known as Alperton Hall was entirely demolished and the new main building began to take shape.
The new building was barely completed before the Second World War and education continued throughout the war years. |

Mr W G Neil was appointed a Headmaster of Wembley County School in 1945. After times of hardship, uncertainty and sorrow, the school settled down to a more stable and settled existence. Mr Neil was fortunate in having many long-serving members of staff amongst the teachers, caretakers and secretaries. Wembley County School was a traditional Grammar School offering pupils a combination of sciences, languages, arts and sports. Mr Gordon Neil led the school for 21 years until his retirement in July 1965. He handed over to Mr Hector Milligan who led the school until 1967, when it was amalgamated with the schools in the Ealing Road to form the Comprehensive called Alperton High School. |
