Alperton Community SchoolIn April 1991, Alperton High School took control of its own finances under the Local Management of Schools (LMS) initiative. Mr Frank Thomas, who took on the responsibility of managing the budget of almost £2 million, described the change as 'both a challenge and an opportunity'.

School is Renamed Mr Pankaj Gulab was Deputy Head and actively involved in the management changes to LMS. In 1992 he became leader of the school, which was subsequently renamed Alperton Community School in 1993. During the 1990's, changes in the population of Alperton resulted in far-reaching and beneficial effects in the school. Alperton Community School became a truly multi-ethnic community and this was soon reflected in the school curriculum and in social activities. Mr Pankaj Gulab led the school until 1998 at which time he handed over to the next Headteacher Mr Alex Wills.
