On Saturday 19th May 2007 the Old Alpertonians held a BIG reunion to celebrate the 85th year since the first pupils were admitted to the school (which was then called Alperton Hall).

Where and When

As with the last big reunion in May 2002, this reunion was held at both the Stanley Avenue and Ealing Road sites to enable former pupils and staff to visit both sites.

Our Challenge

The date for this reunion was set well in advance but then had to compete with a football  final nearby (after the contractors finally manage to finish rebuilding Wembley Stadium). Our event kicked off at 2-30 pm but some people arrived early, to avoid the traffic, and others chose to come after watching the match.

With ample parking at the Ealing Road school, access to both sites was not a problem and some attendees reported that the local traffic was actually lighter than usual!

Attendance

Nearly 400 people attended the reunion, providing a capacity crowd for the main school hall at Stanley Avenue. The years best represented were those that joined in the 1950's and 60's (with 100 each) but the 1930's joiners also came in force (75 people) as did the 1970's. Pupils who started school in the 1980's onwards seem to have little interest in reunions - yet!
